As a marathon runner, skier and cyclist, I know the importance of healthy, pain-free feet. It helps me understand my patients’ situations and empathize when foot injuries, wounds or chronic pain put them on the sidelines.
“I became fascinated with podiatry in college, when I first learned the complexity of feet, with all the tendons, ligaments and bones that create a moving platform we walk and run on. My goal and challenge as a doctor of podiatric medicine is to keep all those moving parts in good working order so you can enjoy your favorite activities for life.
“While sports medicine is an important part of my practice, I feel especially rewarded when I help patients with diabetic wounds and infections recover their mobility. For patients who require surgery, I offer significant training and expertise in limb salvage as well as surgeries that correct a variety of deformities of the foot.
“I see medicine as a collaborative process where we work together to give you the best outcome possible. I always take the time I need to understand both your lifestyle and condition and give you the time and support you deserve to understand and cope with your specific challenges.”
Dr. Simchuk lives in Grants Pass with his wife, Christine Meis, and their two children. He first discovered the beauty of Southern Oregon when opening his practice here in 1997. He has run in the Boston, New York and Chicago Marathons and has participated locally in the Cascade Lakes Relay and Pole Pedal Paddle.
